Weekday Programs

Public schools, private schools, home school groups, day cares and other organized groups are invited for naturalist and docent-led hikes. Guides cover the plants and animals found in the area and discuss their natural history and adaptations as you hike through a myriad of habitats such as the prairie, riverbottom forest or riparian areas. We will divide your group in small groups to increase their learning experience. If you are interested in scheduling a guided tour, please call (817) 392-7410 or email us for availability and prices.

3 to 5 year-olds,  can participate in our PRE-SCHOOL DISCOVERY CLUB that takes place every fourth Friday of every month from 10:30 to 11:30.  Reservations required by calling (817) 392-7410.

Weekend Programs

Weekends are a great time for families and individuals to take advantage of our many classes and hikes covering an array of topics. We provide classes and hikes for kids and adults. Download our Phenology for a current list of programs that fit your interests.

Outreach

We believe nothing can substitute actually visiting the Nature Center for your trip. However, if getting a trip arranged is difficult, we can come to your classroom. Our naturalists can bring live animals to your classroom and discuss their natural history, adaptations and their role in the environment. Outreaches to your schools can help reinforce what your students are learning in the classroom. Live animals have a lasting effect on children and gives them an elevated interest in learning. If you are interested in inviting some animal ambassadors to your classroom and livening up your teaching, let us know. If you are interested in scheduling an outreach, please call (817) 392-7414 or email us for availability and prices. We would be happy to provide you with wild experience.

Our Mission
