This spring has produced heavy amounts of water leading to flooding across the Metroplex. Due to the high amounts of water, area lakes exceeded their maximum levels and forced closures; including the closing of the Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge canoe launch site. In an attempt to keep you better informed of the canoe launch availability, we have provided a link that will take the guessing game away. If Lake Worth’s water level is greater or equal to 595.00′ MSL, our launch site will remain closed until this level drops below 595.00′ MSL. Furthermore, any canoeing/kayak program sponsored by the Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge will be cancelled when the water levels meet or exceed 595.00′ MSL.
