Believe it or not, Christmas break is around the corner. Sign up your family for a Bison Feeding Hayride or stop by for a make and take craft. To register for hayride or inquire about other programs, call the Hardwicke Interpretive Center at (817) 392-7410.

Temperatures may not indicate fall is here, but other signs point to its arrival. Birds have started migrating through and taking residence for the winter. Some species of note are Northern Flicker, Pied-billed Grebe and American White Pelican. Fox squirrels can be seen gathering nuts and laboriously burying them at unmarked locations. As you hike throughout the Refuge or paddle along the West Fork of the Trinity River, you can see a hint of fall color. We encourage you to come out and experience these first signs of fall.

Our mission is to enhance the quality of life by enrolling and educating our community in the preservation and protection of natural areas while standing as an example of these same principles and values in North Central Texas.
